So I just read an article about how the media is trying to exploit moms to sell magazines. The blog writer of this article was responding to the TIME magazine cover with the high heeled mom nursing her 4 year old son (who's standing in a chair so he can more easily suckle her left boob that's just hanging out like a feed bag.)
The blogger (who is for extended breast feeding) was making a case about how covers like that spark controversy among women/mom's who have different parenting styles. Blogger wanted to set the record straight, about how mom's don't hate each other and that they aren't 'at war' with each other like 'people' think.
I don't think people think about 'mommy wars' AT ALL. Unless, of course, you're a mom who is hypersensitive to your unnecessarily smothering parenting techniques being eye-rolled every time you mommy-jack a conversation with someone not in diapers. I think the only people who acknowledge this 'war' (by way of telling everyone that it doesn't exist) are the moms who have no personal lives and are overly neurotic about their kids. They are the one's who have decided, on behalf of their 2 year old, that they really need to continue breast-feeding or that attachment parenting is the best for them. Doesn't anyone realize this has nothing to do with the children? This is ALL about the mothers.
